Normus Urban Projects has an outstanding reputation in providing lifestyle choices for various housing needs in independent living. With over 20 years’ experience in independent living construction, Normus provides a home, not an institution, and has developed associations with many leading not-for-profit organisations in South Australia.
Projects include medium to large scale developments for independent living providers. Understanding client needs and specific requirements, from planning, design and construction, we offer a comprehensive product selection process, managing existing infrastructure and often elderly residents living within the complex. On-site management and regular meetings with the stakeholders is invaluable in this process.
The work is diversified from refurbishment of existing facilities (e.g. Forthsyth House at Aldersgate Village) to demolishing old units and rebuilding in existing retirement villages. Normus Urban Projects completed 20 new single storey special purpose homes for Accessible Housing at Baron Avenue, Ingle Farm.
Forthsyth House is the administration building for the Aldersgate retirement complex in Payneham. Built in the 19th century, the old building had to be completely refurbished both inside and out. The construction was complex and adding to the sensitivity were the elderly residents living in the retirement village. This process required careful, sensitive and thorough management.
